Take the R TRAIN to Bay Ridge Ave/4th Ave. + walk West for about 15 minutes until you see the Pier. Check the MTA planner for train schedule. In google maps search for The American Veterans Memorial Pier located at the end of Bay Ridge Ave.
The R train does not run from White Hall to Court Street anymore so plan accordingly.
THE COURSE
5K & 10K : The course consists of a 1.55m up and back. The 5K completes the course once and the 10K complete it twice! At the U-turn you will see a clearly 5k and 10k sign, a volunteer and water station.
Half Marathon:
3 loops of 4.36 Miles each
UTURN 1: Right under the Verrazano Bridge
UTURN 2:by the start and finish area.
START & FINISH @ American Veteran Memorial Pier
It’s a 3-loop course along the Shore. You start running South and u-turn at 2nd water station. Where the U-turn sign is. Head back North towards the start/finish area and U-turn and head back South. Complete 3 loops and then finish. We will direct you to the start location on race day. The loop is 4.34 Miles long. Miles markers will be placed for you every mile. Water tables will be placed at three locations on the loop providing you with 12 opportunities to pick up GU electrolyte drinks, water, and GU gels. Each will have music to keep you going.

Yes! The start is chip timed= your time will start the moment you go over the mat. You must however start in the wave assigned to your distance. You cannot arrive late and expect to be included in the awards ceremony.

AWARDS
Plaque awards will be given to the top three male and female runners overall. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three in each of the following age groups for the Half Distance: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over. Our awards ceremony banner is customized to every race. For the 5K and 10K races awards will be breakdown in age group of 10: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & better.
PACKET PICK-UP
There will only be packet pick up for this event on race day. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the American Veterans Memorial Pier. You will need picture I.D. to pick up your bib.
RULES
You MUST wear your BIB on your front torso=stomach to assure that you get timed.
You must be able to complete the half marathon in 3 hours or less.
Race numbers are required to participate – no bandits please.
All participants must sign both the USA Track & Field waiver and the City Tri Runs waiver form.
You must be at least 14 years old to participate.
You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge.
You must show photo ID to receive your race number and timing tag.
Coaches, baby-joggers, bikes, dogs, in-line skates, skateboards or dogs will not be allowed on the course.
If you attempt to sell your race number, you may be banned from future racing.
REFUND POLICY
Sorry we do not provide refunds of any kind.
Transfers:
Up to 4 weeks prior to the event: Participants will be eligible to transfer their race entry, to another event in our calendar. Participants will receive a 50% credit of their current year’s entry fee to be applied to any CITYTRI race. You must choose the race you want to transfer to in advance. To redeem your credit please email alejandrareagan[at]hotmail.com.
Within 4 weeks to the event: Participants will pay a $25. transfer fee to receive the credit to another event.
Participants will be eligible to change their race category (change between race distances) up until 14 days before race day, through the MyEvents portal. After this date, runners will need to email to make an entry update.
Purchase Event Protection:
Booking Protect is offered through the ACTIVE Network, and provides insurance to runners so that they can get their entry fees back if they can’t participate in running events for covered reasons. The product, called Booking Protect, is located in the registration path on Active and can be purchased on the Check-Out page. All claims and refunds will go through Booking Protect.
Event Cancellation:
There is NO rain date, We Go Rain or Shine. In case of inclement weather, management reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the race/course for safety concerns. In any case there will be No Refunds of race entry fees. Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. There is no complimentary race entry to a future race. All monies collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Any decision we make to go forth with the race is based on the overall event safety.
