Triathlon, Duathlon, Cycling and RunningTiming Services
We are a multi-sport event company with experience in timing our own events: Triathlons and Duathlons. We can provide you with 3 or 5 split times for Triathlons and Duathlons. We currently use the DAG system with reuseable bibs. We find the system has certain advantages in that it is portable, lightweight, and inexpensive and hope to expand Citytri by using these advantages to provide quality and affordable timing for triathlons, duathlons and running events.
The reusable bibs will require the athletes in the Triathlon to place the bibs on the front of their race jersey after the swim stage. We will need to inform them of the importance of the correct placement of their race bib. The timing device consists of a timing gate and timing paddles. The timing gate will be placed near the entry/exit of the transition area to record the exit from transition one and end of stage two. The timing paddles look like small tennis rackets and will be used at the Finish Line to scan the race bibs for the participants final time. In sum, the four race times that you will receive are the following:
- Exit from Transition after stage one (Timing Gate)-
Provides combined time for stage one and transition.
- Entry to Transition area after stage two. (Timing Gate)-
Provides time for bike stage
- Finish Line (Timing Paddles)
Provides time for final stage
- Combined Time
With your cooperation we will provide you with an HTML page of the results on the day of the event. We will do the same on our website. A hard copy of the race results will be posted at the end of the race to allow participants an opportunity to question any of the results. Afterward, we will provide you with race results showing age group placements for the awards ceremony.
We facilitate this through a five step process:
- Provide every athlete with a race bib at registration.
- Provide every athlete with clear instructions on the placement of the bib.
- Collect race bibs at swim start for accountability.
- Organize bibs in numerical order and prepare to return to athletes upon entering the transition area after the swim.
- Athletes race bibs are scanned for time and returned to them when they arrive at the transition area after the swim stage. (We will notify you of any remaining race bibs for accountability purposes)
Timing at a rate of $2 per participant with a minimum charge of $800. We will also provide 5 splits timing upon request. A higher quote will apply. Please note that for short distance running races, such as 5K and 10K a fee of only .50 cents per participant will be charged. For longer distances such as half-marathon with two or three readings a higher fee will apply.
