Who are we? Citytri is a multisport event organizer with a grasp of the bigger picture. We organize triathlons and duathlons in New Jersey and New York. We strive to accomplish three things:
A big step towards accomplishing our goals is the first ever multisport events for Youth, The Prospect Park Youth Duathlon and The Coney Island Youth Triathlon and Duathlon. All the proceeds from the Prospect Park Youth Duathlon will benefit the Prospect Park Youth Council, one of the programs of the Prospect Park Alliance. Additionally, CITYTRI works with the Youth Council in planning this particular event and then hiring the youth to provide additional help during our events in Prospect Park. CITYTRI is making an effort to obtain subtantial sponsorship so that up to half the proceeds go to the parks or community organizations tied to the events. Furthermore, CITYTRI believes that it will be able to eventually lower race fees once enough sponsorship is obtained thus providing more people with an opportunity to become involved. Our Executive and Race Directors are athletes and officials who have an extensive history in distance and multisport events. They have each completed the NYC, NJ and Philadelphia Marathons, one Ironman, 6 Half-Ironman, and numerous Olympic and Sprint distances triathlons and duathlons on the East Coast. Alejandra Jimenez, the executive director was the company administrator of the largest tour operator for German and European tourists in Costa Rica, L'Tur - Medico Flugreisen. She developed tour packages and contracts with vendors (hotels, tour guides, transportation, local tour operators, etc.) and was responsible for the safety and comfort of up to 500 clients per week. Ms. Jimenez also worked for a similar tourist firm dealing with German tourists to the NYC area. She holds a Masters Degree in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University and a Bachelors Degree in International Relations. She has designed CityTri's website first in flash and now in plain html, maps, logos and artwork for advertisement including their email newsletter. She is looking forward to using her programming multimedia skills in video for the 2007 season. In addition, she takes care of all administrative work and does the timing for the events using the Dag System. George Reagan, the race director, is currently employed by the Department of Homeless Services for the City of NY as the Deputy Director of a family shelter. He has over ten years working in the not-for-profit sector as an organizer, administrator, and fundraiser, and five years as an administrator on Wall Street. As race director he has designed all of CityTri race courses and enjoys promoting our races among local clubs and possible sponsors. But most importantly, they are the happy parents of little Alexander: ![]() ![]() |
